My Erdös Number is 5

There are two chains:

1) Alejandro Satz - Jorma Louko - Raymond Laflamme - Peter W. Shor - Nathan Linial - Paul Erdös.

2) Alejandro Satz - Francisco Diego Mazzitelli - Bei Lok Hu - Stephen A. Fulling - Itshak Borosh - Paul Erdös.

You can find your own Erdös number at the AMS Search Page.

  • Actually that chain works for you, too since Jorma Louko and Carlo Rovelli have published together.

  • Ha^2!

3! Not bad, for someone of age 34 and living in a corner of the planet. But I knew it before, luckily (since the page linked here requires mathscinet subscription). I walk the blogosphere with an alias, so I'll only say that the final link is (A. Odlyzko - P. Erdös).

Of course, unlike you, I can't hope to improve it much.

  • The real challenge is: who will be the first of us to get an Erdös-Bacon number?

Come on, if Richard Feynman, Carl Sagan, Brian Greene, Stephen Hawking and Bertrand Russell could get one... why not us?

Oh, right, no need to answer. :P

  • I feel bad coming in at 6, but then, I am just a philosopher.
